Whispering Shadows continues their instrumental approach that was presented on the demo but adding in shorter songs this time around and incorporating sludge elements into their funeral doom, depressive black metal and dark ambient mixture and this is a review of his self released 2013 demo "Murdered Echoes Of the Mind".
Nature, rain and thunder sounds start off the demo along with atmospheric elements of dark ambient drones and after a couple of minutes guitars find their way into the music and starts combing depressive black metal with funeral doom and the atmospheric sounds are also mixed in with the heavier parts that also mostly stick to a slower musical direction.
As the demo progresses the music starts incorporating more raw black metal elements and guitar leads that are in a very distorted yet melodic musical direction and the second song is a short ambient track which is under 3 minutes as well as being the only song on the demo that is not a long and epic song and the heavy parts make a return on the last track as well as mixing in a more sludge/doom metal approach to the musical sound.
Whispering Shadows brings in some of the earlier sounds of the first 2 demo's and mixes it in with a more instrumental approach to ambient black and doom metal this time around as well as remaining true to his musical direction and the production has a very dark, heavy and raw sound to it.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Whispering Shadows and if you are a fan of ambient black metal and funeral doom, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Sit, Talk And Destroy". 8 out of 10.
