Infamous are a band from Italy that plays a very raw, atmospheric and depressive form of black metal and this is a review of their 2011 album "Of Solitude And Silence" which was re-issued on cassette by Bylec-Tum.
A very fast, raw and atmospheric black metal sound starts off the cassette along with some blast beats and a few seconds later high pitched depressive screams are added into the music and you can also hear some dark sounding melodies being added into the guitar riffing at times and after awhile the music starts to bring in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Some of the tracks are very long and epic in length and you can also hear some keyboards being utilized in certain sections of the recording and the faster sections bring in a great amount of tremolo picking and you can hear a great amount of 90's black metal influences in the bands musical style and as the album progresses the keyboards start having more of a powerful presence at times adding in some epic qualities to the songs they are utilized on and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
Infamous plays a style of black metal that is very raw, depressive and atmospheric at the same time and they demonstrate that these 3 different styles of the genre mix well together, the production sounds very dark, raw and heavy while the lyrics cover dark and depressive themes.
In my opinion Infamous are a very great sounding raw, depressive and atmospheric black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this re-issue. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Grey Euphoria" and "Spiritual Desolation". 8/5 out of 10.
