Chalice Of Blood are a band from Sweden that plays a very raw and old school form of occult black metal and this is a review of their ep "Helig, Helig, Helig" which will be released in 2015 by Daemon Worship Productions.
Clean playing starts off the ep before going into more of a heavy and melodic direction and after the intro the music starts going for more of a fast and raw black metal sound along with some blast beats and high pitched grim screams which also gives the songs an old school feeling along with a very dark and evil presence.
On the following songs the band slows down a bit for a few seconds at times bringing in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the main focus remains on a very fast and raw old school black metal sound which also brings in a small amount of melodies at times and they also bring in a small amount of spoken word parts on one of the songs while the last track also brings back a small amount of clean playing before going back into a very fast and raw musical direction
Chalice Of Blood plays a style of occult black metal that is very fast, and raw and also has more of an old school feeling than most of the bands that are their counterparts, the production sounds very raw and heavy, while the lyrics cover Occultism, Left Hand Path, and Death Worship themes.
In my opinion Chalice Of Blood are a very great sounding fast and raw occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Nightside Serpent" and "Transcend The Endless". 8/5 out of 10.
