Lord Kaos/Thorns Of Impurity/Warhead Records/1996 CD Review

Lord Kaos where a band from Australia that played a very raw and cold from of atmospheric black metal and this is a review of their 1996 album "Thorns Of Impurity" which was released by Warhead Records.

Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast drumming with a great amount of brutal blast beats being thrown in at times, while the keyboards are very dark and atmospheric sounding, as for the bass playing it has a very dark and raw tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they sound very powerful.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast raw/atmospheric black metal riffs that utilize melodies at times, while the lead guitars are very distorted and melodic black metal guitar solos.

Vocals are all high pitched black metal screams with some mournful cries being used on a couple of songs as well as some deep growls, while the lyrics cover winter, darkness and occultism, as for the production it has a very powerful, heavy and dark sound to it.

In my opinion Lord Kaos where a very good raw/atmospheric black metal band and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Crystal Lakes" "Dark Tower Of Immolation" "Red Sky Of Angels Dying" and "Fountains Of Impure Essence". RECOMMENDED BUY.
