Menscheitsdammerung are a 1 man band from Belgium that plays a very heavy, fast, raw and melodic form of black metal and this is a review of his 2013 ep "Clever Of Skies And Tenants" which was released by No Sleep Till Megiddo Records.
The ep starts out with nature sounds before going into a fast, raw and melodic black metal direction along with grim vocals and blast beats and after awhile the recording starts bringing in a mixture of slow and fast parts.
When the ep moves on the music sticks to a raw and melodic black metal sound which reminds me of the mid 90's Swedish black metal bands while having a different approach to the music lyric wise and at time s the music produces a death metal feeling while being a lot more closer to black metal and the music gets a lot more darker during the slower sections and on the 5th song the music starts adding in more fast old school black metal and thrash elements.
Menscheitsdammerung bring back a lot of memories of the mid 90's with their fast and melodic approach to black metal while also having a good amount of slow parts which add to the diversity of the recording and this is a decent example of melodic black metal.
Song lyrics are a concept based on instincts and perversions, while the production has a very raw, heavy and powerful sound to it.
In my opinion Menscheitsdammerung are a very great sounding heavy, fast, raw and melodic black metal project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Pick (or When, fortuity and violation intervene)" and "The Kill (or, How the quientessence of nature prevails)". 8 out of 10.
