Revetreth are a duo from Russia that plays a raw and blasphemous form of black metal and this is a review of their 2015 ep "Funeral Darkness Ov Bottomless Swamps" which was released by Narcoleptica Productions.
A very distorted sound starts of the ep before going into more of a raw black metal direction that also utilizes blast beats and grim screams which also get very deep at times and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with a heavy influence from the early 90's bands.
As the ep progresses more melody and a touch of first wave black metal and thrash are added into some of the tracks along with solos and leads being utilized at times and all of the songs stick to a heavy and raw style of black metal and avoids any clean or soft parts and they also close the ep with a cover of Mayhem's "Chainsaw Gutfuck".
Revetreth plays a style of black metal that is very raw and old school sounding in the early 90's tradition, the production sounds very heavy and raw while the lyrics are written in Russian and cover Anti Christian themes.
In my opinion Revetreth are a very great sounding raw and blasphemous black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Climbing Black Empire" and "Christian Cirvi". 8 out of 10.
