Promethean Gate are a band from Brazil that plays an occult form of black metal and this is a review of their 2017 demo "Architecture And Concepts Of The New God" which was released by Depressive Illusions Records.
Movie samples start off the demo before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams and the music also brings in a great amount of 90's era influences.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while synths can also be heard quite a bit throughout the recording along with some of the tracks being very long and epic in length as well as one song also bringing in a brief use of operatic female vocals and dark sounding melodies can also be heard in a lot of the guitar riffing and when guitar solos and leads are finally utilized they give the music more of an old school feeling.
Promethean Gate plays a style of occult black metal that is very raw, old school and atmospheric sounding, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Occultism, Mysticism, Spirituality, Magick and Literature themes.
In my opinion Promethean Gate are a very great sounding occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Heretic Son (Follower Of Non-Existence)" and "The Horned Dragon That Travels Through The Gates Of Sitra Ahra And Spreads Words Or Truth". 8/5 out of 10.
