This is a review of a split ep between Finland's Pantheon Of Blood and Creatura called "Lapis Philosophorum" which was released by Glorious North Productions and we will start off the review with Pantheon Of Blood a band that has been featured before in this zine and plays an occult form of black metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a very distorted yet melodic black metal sound that also uses a great amount of solos and leads and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on their side of the recording while the vocals are all grim screams that also get high pitched at times and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard and there is also a small amount of clean singing and synths, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover occultism and National Romanticism themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding song from Pantheon of Blood and if you are a fan of occult black metal, you should check out their side of the split.
Next up is Creatura a solo project that plays a raw form of black metal.
His side of the split starts out with a very melodic sounding guitar lead before going into a very fast and raw black metal direction along with a great amount of blast beats and grim screams and the music is very heavily rooted in the second wave and you can also hear a great amount of melody in the guitar riffs and the song also slows down after awhile to bring in more diversity, the production sounds very dark, raw and old school while the lyrics cover Occultism themes.
In my opinion this is a very great sounding track from Creatura and if you are a fan of raw, old school black metal, you should check out his side of the split.
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and i would recommend it to all fans of the raw, old school and occult genres of black metal. 8 out of 10.
