In Red Moon is a solo project from Mexico that plays a very avant garde and melodic form of black metal and this is a review of his self released 2018 album "Vampiric Necromantic Order".
A horror movie orientated intro starts off the album while also introducing synths and spoken word parts onto the recording which also mix in with the heavier sections of the music at times. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams while the music also brings in a great amount of 90's influences. Most of the tracks are very long and epic in length along with the songs also adding in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the riffs also use a great amount of melody.
All of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them as well as the solos and leads being done in a very melodic style. The music also incorporates a great amount of avant garde elements along with one track also introducing acoustic guitars and clean vocals onto the recording and some tracks also bring in influences of gothic and doom metal. The production sounds very powerful for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover darkness, death, vampirism and occult themes.
In my opinion In Red Moon are a very great sounding avant garde and melodic black metal solo project and if you are a fan of t his musical genre, you should check out t his recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Jester's macabre Dance" "Trinity" and "Angelic Queen". 8 out of 10.
