Flammenkvlt are a band from Austria that plays an atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their 2021 ep "Zeitenende" which will be released in June by Analog Death Squad.
Tragic sounding keyboards start off the ep before going into more of a heavier and melodic musical direction. When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling while the vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while spoken word parts can also be heard on a couple of tracks. Clear vocals can also be heard in certain sections of the recording along with the music also having its atmospheric moments as well as the solos and leads also being done in a very melodic style and all of the tracks are also very long and epic in length, acoustic guitars can also be heard at times and the closing track also adds in touches of electronic music.
Flammenkvlt plays a style of black metal that is very atmospheric and melodic sounding. The production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover dark, political and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Flammenkvlt are a very great sounding atmospheric and melodic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "The Inner Fire". 8 out of 10.
