Seance Of... are a solo project from Australia that plays a very satanic form of black metal and this is a review of his 2021 album "The Colour Of Magick" which will be released in May by Signal Rex.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album along with some high pitched black metal screams a few seconds later. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them while synths and avant garde structures are also added into certain sections of the music.
When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some dark sounding melodies also being added into some of the guitar riffing.
All of the drum beats are also programmed along with the tremolo picking also giving the songs more of a raw feeling when it is utilized. Some of the tracks are also very long and epic in length as well as the music also having its atmospheric moments, one of the songs also introduces clean vocals onto the album and a later song is also an instrumental. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism and Darkness themes.
In my opinion Seance Of... are a very great sounding satanic black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "1" "3" and "8". 8 out of 10.
