Godless are a solo project from Puerto Rico that plays a satanic form of black metal and this is a review of his 2021 album "Lustcifer" which was released as a joint between Satanath and The End Of Time Records.
A very fast and raw sound starts off the album along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals a re mostly grim sounding black metal screams while the music is also very heavily rooted in the 90's but modern at the same time and clean playing is also added on some of the tracks.
Dark sounding melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while spoken word parts can also be heard on a few tracks and also adds in more of a ritualistic atmosphere. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the solos and leads being done in a very dark, melodic and old school style.
At times the vocals also capture a semi melodic tone along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them as well as some horror movie samples also being utilized on a few songs and some of the tracks are also very long and epic in length, there is also some session work form members of Tormentor and Nocturnus A.D. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Satanism, Luciferian, Blasphemy, Lust and Misanthropy themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Godless and if you are a fan of satanic black metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Seduced By The Devil" "A Torrid Sensation Of Death" "When God Can Not Enter, Only The Devil Can" and "Fear Him". 8 out of 10.
