Drugoth are a duo from Australia that plays a raw mixture of black metal and crust and this is a review of their 2022 compilation album "Legions Of The Great Eye" which was released by War Productions.
D beat style drum beats start off the compilation along with some raw guitar riffing a few seconds later which also adds in some melody at times. Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams while the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of blast beats and the songs also mix in a lot of crust elements.
A great portion of the tracks are also very short in length while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. The music also adds in a great amount of 90's influences and as the compilation progresses some songs also start getting longer in length, growls can also be heard at times.
Drugoth plays a musical style that takes raw black metal and crust and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Lord Of The Rings, Folklore and Darkness themes.
In my opinion Drugoth are a very great sounding raw mixture of black metal and c rust and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Lutaum Bri Bukot" "Krupu Shatargat" "Barbarity Unhindered" and "Maelstrom Of Blades". 8 out of 10.
