Fell Deeds are a band from Vancouver B.C, Canada that plays a crust influenced form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2021 single "The Book Of Eibon".
Clean playing starts off the song before going into a heavier direction while you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing along with the vocals being high pitched black metal screams along with the mid tempo sections of the song also adding in elements of crust and d beat and the tremolo picking also gives the track more of a raw feeling when it is utilized, shouts and spoken word parts can also be heard briefly and towards the end a small amount of melodic guitar solos and leads can also be heard.
Fell Deeds plays a style of black metal that is very raw and aggressive as well as mixing in elements of crust to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics are based upon a fictional grimoire from the writings of Clark Ashton Smith that was also a part of the Lovecraftian Mythos.
In my opinion Feel Deeds are a very great sounding crust influenced black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this single. 8 out of 10.
