Falne/Resurrection Of The Fallen/2023 Full Length Review

 

  Falne  are  a  duo  from  Norway  that  plays  an  old  school  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2023  album  "Resurrection  Of  The  Fallen".

  A  very  powerful  bass  guitar  intro  starts  off  the  album  along  with  some  distorted  sounds  before  going  into  a  very  fast,  raw  and  lo-fi  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  and  the  music  is  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  classic  Norwegian  style.

  Vocals  are  done  in  mostly  a  grim  black  metal  style  along  with  a  few  screams  while  the  solos  and  leads  stick  to  a  very  melodic  yet  old  school  direction.  The  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  the  whole  album  also  sticking  to  a  heavier  direction.

  Falne  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  raw  and  lo-fi  in t he  classic  Norwegian  tradition.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Death  and  Past  Life's.  

  In  my  opinion  Falne  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  old  school  black  metal  duo  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Chains  Of  Desolation"  "Timeless  Travels"  and  "Future  Stillborn".  8  out  of  10.
