Warrior are a band from Sweden that plays a very raw and old school mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their 2021 album "Instruments Of Death" which was released by Grind To Death Records.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling along with the vocals being done in more of a demonic death metal style.
Most of the music is also very heavily rooted in the early 90's era while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them along with a great portion of the tracks also being very long and epic in length as well as one track also introducing keyboards onto the recording.
Warrior plays a musical style that is very heavily rooted in the 90's second wave style and mixes it with a demonic death metal vocals style to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover vampirism, torture, Satanism, death, blasphemy, Sumerian and Egyptian Mythology themes.
In my opinion Warrior are a very great sounding raw and old school mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Vampiric Bloodthirst" "Deathbringing Banners" "Satan's Knights" and "Void Chant". 8 out of 10.
