Lucifixion/Feral Mass/Sentient Ruin Laboratories/2021 Demo Review

 

  Lucifixion  are  a  duo  from  the  United  States  that  plats  a  very  raw  from  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2021  demo  "Feral  Mass"  which  was  released  by  Sentient  Ruin  Laboratories

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  demo  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  while  the  only  track  on  this  recording  is  over  9  minutes  in  length  and  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.

  The  song  also  shows  some  influences  of  both  the  90's  and  early  200's  era  of  the  genre  while  the  music  also  captures  a  very  lo-fi  atmosphere  at  times.  Growls  are  also  added  into  some  parts  of  the  track  along  with  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  melody  along  with  the  song  also  slowing  down  briefly  and  the  whole  demo  also  sticks  to  a  heavier  direction.

  Lucifixion  plays  a  style  of  black  emtal  that  is  very  raw  and  lo-fi  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  death  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Lucifixion  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  black  metal  duo  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of t his  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  demo.  8  out  of  10.
