Anticreation are a duo from Greece that plays a very dark and bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "From The Dust Of Embers" which will be released in July as a joint effort between Sentient Ruin Laboratories and Nuclear Winter Records.
A very dark and ritualistic sounding intro starts off the album before going into a very fast and raw war metal direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostly bestial death metal growls while the music also adds in a decent mixture of both old school and modern influences.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while black metal screams can also be heard at times. Dark sounding melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing along with the slower sections of the songs also adding in touches of doom/death metal.
As the album progresses a brief use of apocalyptic orientated dark ambient soundscapes can also be heard along with a later track also adding in a small amount of throat singing and when guitar solos and leads are finally utilized on a closing track they are done in a very chaotic style. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness and death themes.
In my opinion Anticreation are a very great sounding dark and bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "From The Dust Of Embers" "The Last Perception" and "Unborn". 8 out of 10.
