Devouror are a band from Singapore that plays a bestial mixture of war, black and death metal with some elements of thrash metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "Diablos Brigade" which will be released in September by Listenable Records.
A very dark and epic sounding intro starts off the album before going into a heavier direction while the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of brutal blast beats and war metal elements. Vocals are mostly bestial growls while the the solos and leads are also done in a very chaotic style.
When tremolo picking is utilized they also give the songs more of a raw feeling while black metal screams can also be heard at times. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them along with the riffs also adding in some influences of thrash metal.
The music is also very heavily rooted in the mid 80's to early 90's era but mixed in with a more modern day brutality along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced paced and fast parts as well as the riffs also utilizing a small amount of dark sounding melodies at times, ritualistic chants can also be heard briefly and the album closes with a cover of Possessed's "Death Metal. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism, Blasphemy and Death themes.
In my opinion Devouror are a very great sounding bestial mixture of war, black, death and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Oath Of Devils Cross" "Manta Kali Kunt" "Supersonic Satanas" and "Bestial Deathcult Warfare". 8 out of 10.
