Motherwood are a band from Brazil that plays an atmospheric mixture of black and doom metal and this is a review of their self released 2 song 2017 promo.
Heavy atmospheric doom metal style riffing starts off the promo along with some synths a few seconds later which also leads up to grim black metal screams also making their presence known while also getting deep at times and when guitar solos are utilized they add in a more melodic style to the songs.
A great amount of modern atmospheric black metal elements can be heard in the bands musical style and nature sounds along with spoken word parts can also be heard briefly and both of the tracks are very long and epic in length and when the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the song a raw feeling.
Motherwood plays a musical style that takes the atmospheric styles of black and doom metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and depressive themes.
In my opinion Motherwood are a very great sounding atmospheric mixture of black and doom metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Coldness". 8 out of 10.
