Caedes Cruenta are a band from Greece that plays an occult form of black metal and this is a review of their 2017 ep "Recitation Of Abyssic Necropsalms" which was released by Ill Damnation Productions.
Melodic yet ritualistic chanting starts off the ep before adding melodic guitar riffs onto the recording which also leads up to blast beats and atmospheric keyboards being added onto the recording as well as some grim black metal screams and the music is rooted in the 90's Greek style of the genre.
Melodic guitar leads can be heard quite a bit throughout the recording and both of the tracks bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the flutes add in a touch of folk and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and spoken word parts can also be heard briefly along with both of the tracks being very long and epic in length.
Caedes Cruenta plays a style of occult black metal that is very heavily rooted in the early 90's Greek tradition, the production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics cover death, hate, wisdom, occultism, mysticism and ancient ritual themes.
In my opinion Caedes Cruenta are a very great sounding occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Shadows From Ancient Ephyra". 8 out of 10.
