Discordia Profana/Locomotiva da Desgraca/2018 Full Length Review

  Discordia  Profana  are  a  band  from  Brazil  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  traditional form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2018  album  "Locomotiva  da  Desgraca".

  Thunder  sounds  and  human  cries  start  off  the  album  bringing  in  the  atmosphere  of  a  sacrificial  ritual  before  adding  in  a  powerful  sounding  bass  guitar  which  also  leads  to  a  heavier  direction  along  with  the  vocals  being  mostly  grim  black  metal  screams  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  can  also  be  heard.

  When  tremolo  picking  is  utilized  it  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling  while  the  solos  and  solos  are  done  in  a  very  chaotic  style  along  with  the  songs  also  bringing  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody  and  the  music  also  adds  in  a  great  amount  of  90's  influences  and  the  outro  adds  in  some  horror  style  keyboards.

  Discordia  Profana  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  raw  and  traditional  sounding,  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Portuguese  and  cover  Satanism,  Darkness  and  Anti  Christian  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Discordia  Profana  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Vale  de  Lagrimas"  "Requintes  de  Crueldades"  and  "Matem  em  Nome  do  Inferno".  8  out  of  10.
