Strick Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

Strick was founded in late 2016 and is a munich based blackend grind band, with a furious and viscous sound. Disharmonic guitars and Black Metal shrieks mixed with dbeat and a grind core attitude.

2.So far you have released 2 ep's, musically how do they both differ from each other?

Our second release „Selektion“ is way faster and is overall more a grindcore orientated than our first ep Monotonie is.

3.Your lyrics cover a lot of anti fascism themes, can you tell us a little bit more about your hatred from fascism?

We believe in equality and human rights, and fascists opposing those basic rules of society deserve nothing but hatred. Because the „argument“ i was born in a certain place and that is why i deserve to rule over you, is just crazy bullshit.

4.I know that the bands name means either rope or hung in German, how does this name fit in with the musical style you play?

Strick is probably best translated with"rope used for suicide", we also cover suicidal thoughts in our song "Kein Ende". We try to fuck up our audience with our music, so they can experience and express radical emotions, especially at our live shows.

5. Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the ep cover?

It is from our buddy SNDBCK a german artist who does all our artwork. And it reflects the prison which is modern capitalism, and that in our darkest moments we might think that ending it all is the only possibility escaping it.

6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?

One of our favourite shows was in pula croatia this year, the location was awesome and the crowd was crazy. Also pretty much all of our gigs with our buddies Dekonstrukt and Gall. We play in a darkened foggy room, and use random flickering light. To kind of entrance our audience, so they can really feel our music.

7.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future/

Yes we have but nothing we can announce yet. But we will inform you soon via social media.

8.Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?

Well we are actually pretty happy how it is right now. But our next release might be with a label.

9.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your newer music by fans of black metal and grindcore?

Well we are a small band but those who heared our stuff liked it. We got uploaded to yt spotify and stuff, it is okay. Also Reviews have been positive.

10.When can we expect a full length and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

Well there aren`t any plans for a full length yet, but maybe another ep. Well we want to keep it dark with a lot of blast beats.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Our guitar players writing is heavily influenced by Nasum and Nocte Obducta.

12.What are some of your non musical interests

Hema, Philosophy, Nature, Beer. Also Memes 11

13.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
