Bialywilk are a solo project from Chicago, Illinois that plays a very atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of his 2021 album "Próżnia" which was released by Vendetta Records.
A very fast and raw sound starts off the album along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Melodies are also added into a lot of the guitar riffing while the vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched black metal screams as well as the music also having its atmospheric moments.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. A couple of the tracks are also long and epic in length along with a couple of songs also being ambient tracks which also introduces synths and spoken word parts onto the recording, growls can also be heard at times.
Bialywilk plays a style of black metal that is very atmospheric sounding as well as adding in some touches of ambient to create a sound of his own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover space, mysticism and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Bialywilk are a very great sounding ambient and atmospheric black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Our Shared Fear" and "Merkavah". 8 out of 10.
