Heathen Deity are a band from the United Kingdom that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a very satanic and anti Christian form of black metal and this is a review of their 2019 live album "Nottingham Infernal" which was released by Death Prayer Records.
Live audience reaction and a very dark sounding intro starts off the album before going into a heavier musical direction. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast b eats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling and the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the solos and leads are also done in a very dark yet melodic style when t hey are utilized. The songs also mix in a great amount of old school influences along with some dark sounding melodies also being added into the guitar riffing at times as well as one song also adding in a brief use of clean playing.
On this recording Heathen Deity brought their satanic and blasphemous style of black metal to stage and prove with these live tracks that they can compete with any other band of this genre in a live performance. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Satanism, Anti Christianity, Anti Religion and Black Metal themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from heathen Deity and if you are a fan of satanic and blasphemous black metal, you should check out this live album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Gut The Church" "For The Glory Of Satan" and "True English Black Metal". 8 out of 10.
