Ühtceare are a solo project from Argentina that plays an atmospheric, ambient and ritualistic approach to depressive black metal and this is a review of his 2017 compilation album "La Patria Que Danza en Rabia" which was released by Death prayer Records and consists of his demo and singles that he had released in this era.
Clean playing starts off the compilation along with some grim yet depressive sounding black metal screams a few seconds later. Most of the tracks are also very long and epic in length along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them and distorted melodies can also be heard in some of the heavier riffing.
When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast b eats can be heard which also gives the album more of a raw feeling. At times the recording also gets very atmospheric sounding along with the synths also bringing in elements of ambient when they are utilized and one track also introduces industrial style beats into songs.
A couple of the songs are also instrumentals as well as a couple of tracks also adding in a brief use of clean playing. The music also has its ritualistic moments and throughout the compilation you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Spanish and cover misanthropy, anger and occultism themes.
In my opinion Ühtceare are a very great sounding atmospheric, ambient and ritualistic depressive black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this compilation. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "La inexorable amargura en la existencia" and "Detrás de la pared de las gemelas siniestras del sueño". 8 out of 10.
