This is a review of another recording from Los Angeles, California's solo project Lamp Of Murmuur which shows the music moving away from the raw and lo-fi style of occult black metal od previous releases and going into more of a dungeon synth direction and the demo was released in 2020 by Death Prayer Records and called "Cursed Deambulations Of The Nocturnal Entities" which was released by Death Prayer Records.
Synths which also use a variety of many different sounding keys start off the demo while also bringing in elements of dungeon synth into the music while also capturing the atmosphere of a horror movie soundtrack. All of the music also sticks to an instrumental direction and all of the tracks sound different from each other.
One of the songs is also very long and epic in length while the music also captures the feeling of a horror induced nightmare at times. Dark sounding melodies can also be heard at times Programmed beats can also be heard briefly along with all of the tracks also sticking to a slower musical direction.
On this recording Lamp Of Murmuur plays a style of dungeon synth that captures more of an occult, horror and nightmare induced atmosphere instead of the epic fantasy sound a lot of artists go for in this genre as well as keeping everything instrumental while the production sounds very dark and lo-fi.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Lamp Of Murmuur and if you are a fan of dungeon synth, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "To Ravish The Living" and "Drowning My Memories In A Sea of Spectral Fog". 8 out of 10.
