Vesperwynd/Silenced By Thunder/2022 Single Review

 

  Vesperwynd  are  a  band  from  Grand  Rapid,  Michigan  that  plays  an  atmospheric  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2022  single  "Silenced  By  Thunder".

  Heavy  yet  melodic  riffing  starts  off  the  song  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a very  powerful  sound  to  them.  Clear  pagan  vocals  and  synths  can  also  be  heard  briefly  which  also  gives  the  tracks  more  of  an  atmospheric  feeling  along  with  the  vocals  also  adding  in a   great  amount  of  grim  black  metal  screams.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  some  melodies  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  and  when t he  music  speeds  up  a  small  amount  of  blast b eats  can  also  be  heard.

  Vesperwynd  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  atmospheric  sounding,  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Slavic  Folklore,  occultism  and  Lyncian  Mythos themes.

  In  my  opinion  Verpserwynd  are  a  very  great  sounding  atmospheric  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  single.  8  out  of  10.
