Simorgh is a solo project from an unknown area that plays a very atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of his 2022 single "Shokooh-e Mehr Va Atash" which was released by Humanity's Plague Productions.
The sounds of fire burning start off the single which is also almost 30 minutes length along with some clean playing a few seconds later before going into a heavier direction. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast b eats can b e heard.
When tremolo picking is utilized they also give the song more of a raw feeling while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams. Melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing along with the track also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as the music also showing some influences of the classic Eastern European style at times.
Simorgh plays a style of black metal that is very raw and atmospheric sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Persian Mythology and Legends themes.
In my opinion Simorgh are a very great sounding raw and atmospheric black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this single. 8 out of 10.
