Imha Tarikat are a band from Germany that has been featured before in this zine and on this recording plays a very raw and angry form of black metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "hearts Unchained - At War With A Passionless World" which will be released in December as a joint effort between Lupus Lounge and Prophecy Productions.
A very dark sounding intro starts off the album while whispers can also be heard briefly before going into a very fast and raw black metal direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostly done in a very angry shouting style and melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing.
Throughout the recording you can also h ear a decent mixture of slow, paced and fast parts while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. All of the musical instruments on the album also have a very powerful sound to them along with the music also being more modern than the previous release.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style along with one of the tracks also introducing spoken word parts onto the album and as the album progresses a brief use of keyboards can be heard before returning back to a heavier direction on later songs as well as some of the riffing also adding in some old school touches and they also add in some influences of punk, occult rock and traditional metal. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover inner conflicts, suffering, escalating emotions, catharsis and redemption themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Imha Tarikat and if you are a fan of raw and angry black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Radical Righteousness" "Flood of Love (The Beast Trigger)" and "Best of Sovereignty". 8 out of 10.
