Disimperium are a band from Portland, Oregon that plays a mixture of war, black, death metal and grindcore and this is a review of their 2021 ep "Malefic Obliteration" which will be released on July 23rd by Sentient Ruin Laboratories.
A very heavy, dark, brutal and distorted sound starts off the ep before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Elements of war metal and grindcore are also added into the faster sections of the songs and the vocals also add in some bestial growls.
All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them while black metal screams can also be heard briefly along with the music also slowing down for a few seconds in certain sections of the recording. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very chaotic style as well as all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them.
Disimperium plays a musical style that takes war, black, death metal and grindcore and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness, violence and negativity themes.
In my opinion Disimperium are a very great sounding mixture of war, black, death metal and grindcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Infernal machine". 8 out of 10.
