Enigmatical are a duo from Sweden that plays a cosmic and industrial form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2021 compilation album "Transmissions" which consists of a 3 part ep series that they released in between 2019 and 2020.
Electronic sounds start off the compilation and also gives the songs more of a sci-fi atmosphere along with some industrial style beats a few seconds later which also mixes in with the heavier sections of the songs. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while the vocals also add in some high pitched black metal screams at times.
All of the drum beats are also programmed while the vocals also add in some death metal growls and back up shouts in some parts of the recording as well as some clear vocals. Spoken word parts are also added on some of the tracks along with some blast beats also being added into the faster sections of the songs.
Keyboards and samples are also utilized quite a bit throughout the compilation along with the tremolo picking also giving the songs more of a raw feeling when they are utilized. The tracks also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Interdimensional Entities and Multiverse themes.
In my opinion Enigmatical are a very great sounding cosmic and industrial black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this compilation. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Wormhole" "We Are The Demons" and "Enstrangled Cosmic Spirals". 8 out of 10.
