Havohej/Dethrone The Son Of God/Candlelight Records/1993 CD Review

Havohej are a band from New York that are one of the original USBM bands that plays a very raw and primitive form of black metal with a death metal edge and this is a review of their classic 1993 album "Dethrone The Son Of God" which was released by Candlelight Records.

Drums range from slow, mid paced drumming with some blast beats being thrown in at times, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful tone with raw and primitive riffing that dominates throughout the recording.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffing that is very sloppy, raw, dark and primitive sounding with a good amount of death metal influences being thrown in and there are little to no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.

Vocals are all high pitched black metal screams, while the lyrics cover Satanism, Anti Judeo Christianity and Perversity, as for the production it has a very raw and primitive sound to it.

In my opinion this was a great album from Havohej and if you are a fan of this band, you probably already own this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Final Hour Of Christ" "Weeping In Heaven" "Raping Of Angels" and "Nazarene Decomposing". RECOMMENDED BUY.
