1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the musical project?
The project is conceptual. The idea is to have each release cover the mass destruction of living beings around the universe in a variety of ways. All while our protagonist, Death, describes the sequence of events.
2.So far you have released an ep, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical style that you went for on the recording?
The musical style is very raw recordings of instruments and vocals. Real equipment mic'd up in the studio. Something special about tube amps glowing and swapping out cabs and mics for tracking rather than an all in the box recording. The music itself is a blend of many styles of rock, metal, and experimental. No predetermined sound. Five tracks were written and mostly recorded while three ultimately 'made the cut' so to speak.
3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects you have explored so far with the music?
The vaporization of an earth-like planet and it's denizens by a nearby quasar's particle jet. And how little it matters to Death.
4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Memitim'?
Memitim is a hebrew word for Death. The kind that pays you a visit.
5.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the ep cover?
Pencil and inks on watercolor paper photographed under a yellow light. It is a nod to the concept of the album done by a fellow artist.
6.With this project you record everything by yourself, are you open to working with other musicians or do you prefer to work solo?
Collaboration is a great tool for originality, but the purity of solo work has its own uniqueness. A featured artist for a guitar solo would be great.
7.So far very little is known about the musical project, are you planning on expanding your presence in the future or do you prefer to keep a lower profile?
The album is available on basically all major streaming platforms, Youtube, and available for purchase on Bandcamp. Physical copies exist locally and soon for purchase online with other merch. There's been a conscious effort to stay away from Facebook and/or Instagram type platforms. Outside of those decisions, whatever happens, happens.
8.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal?
Outside of a Russian page grabbing some likes/hits, no idea.
9.Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?
A label signing would be a great achievement.
10.When can we expect a full length and also where do you see t=yourself heading into as a musician during the future?
EP's and singles are all that's on the radar at the moment. An album consisting of a collection of a few EP's could be a thing...
11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
Prog rock and prog/extreme metal have been the largest influences. Mastodon, Sleep, Opeth, Gorgoroth, Pain of Salvation, Sunn, Tool, etc. along with many underground acts such as Ancalagon, Dredneks, and Halothane.
12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
Thanks for the opportunity! A vlog is already being recorded following the process of the recording of the second EP for the project which will be available on the Youtube page. Be a goat.
