Temple Of Gorgon are a solo project from Los Angeles, California that plays an raw, melodic and atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of his 2021 album "Throats Of Lie" which was released as a joint effort between plague Demon and Blasphemous Creations Of Hell Records.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album while you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording. Vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched sounding black metal screams along with the riffs also adding in a decent amount of melody and blast beats are also added into t he faster sections of the songs.
When tremolo picking is utilized it also gives the music more of a raw feeling while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. The music also adds in a great amount of old school influences as well as keeping everything modern at the same time along with the synths also giving the music more of an atmospheric feeling when they are utilized, when guitar solos and leads are added into the music they are also done in a very melodic style
Temple Of Gorgon plays a style of black metal that is very aggressive, melodic and traditional sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness, death, evil, serpent worship and mythological themes.
In my opinion Temple Of gorgon are a very great sounding raw, melodic and atmospheric black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album.
