Blitzgeistig are a duo from Brazil that plays a very depressive form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2014 demo "I".
Clean guitars start off the demo along with drums and the first track is a 5 minute long instrumental, on the second song the music gets more distorted and heavy which leads up to a slow depressive black metal direction along with some suicidal screams and cries as well as bringing in a mixture of both clean and heavy parts.
The band brings this slow depressive black metal approach to the other tracks along with a mixture of both long and short songs, on some of the tracks you can hear a slight post black metal sound along with some melodies and there is a brief use of spoken word parts on one of the tracks and the music is mostly instrumental while the black metal vocals are used in certain sections of the recording.
Blitzgeistig carry the tradition of slow and depressive black metal with their music and bring out some of the best elements of the genre, along with a dark and raw sounding production and lyrics that cover suicidal and depressive themes.
In my opinion Blitzgeistig are a very great sounding depressive black metal project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Walking Life In Depression" and "Suicide". 8 out of 10.
