Sabbatic Goat are a band from New Zealand that plays a very bestial form of black/death metal with elements of doom metal and this is a review of their 2014 ep "Imprecations Of Black Chaos" which was released by Vault Of Dried Bones.
A very dark adn ritualistic sound starts off the ep and after the intro the music goes into a fast war metal direction along with brutal blast beats and a mixture of bestial growls and screams and when the band slows down you can hear some doom/death metal in the guitar riffing while having a more raw approach to it.
The songs that are present on this recording sound like what Bestial Warlust or Black Witchery would sound like if they had a more doom and death metal influence to them and the music on the tracks are very heavy, raw and bestial sounding and when the solos and leads are added in the music really starts to have an early Australian war metal feeling to it and the last track is a cover of Black Witchery's "Into Damnation Eternal".
Sabbatic Goat have a very different approach to bestial black/war metal with the doom metal influences and the music is very raw, brutal and old school sounding, along with a raw production and lyrics that cover darkness and occultism.
In my opinion Sabbatic Goat are a very great sounding mixture of bestial black/death and doom metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Flesh And Might" and "Chaos Ritual". 8/5 out of 10.
