Tresspasser are a band from Sweden that plays a Nordic influenced form of apocalyptic and anarchist black metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Чому не вийшло? (why didn't it work?)" which was released on vinyl by Heavenly Vault Records.
Melodic guitar leads start off the album along with some black metal s creams a few seconds later. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can also be heard which also gives the music more of a raw feeling along with some elements of crust and d beat.
Swedish style melodies can also be heard quite a bit throughout the recording while the songs also add in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. A great amount of 90's influences can also be heard in the bands musical style but also keeping it in a very modern direction.
At times the faster sections of the music also captures the sounds of war and Armageddon showing somewhat of a Marduk influence. World War era Choirs and music can also be heard in certain sections of the recording as well as a brief use of folk instruments, classical guitars and war samples, all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. The production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover the struggle of anarchist workers in the Ukraine lead by the infamous Nester Makhno between the two world wars.
In my opinion Tresspasser are a very great sounding apocalyptic and anarchist black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Hunted Like Wolves" "Death To Fight Death" and "Miscreant Dawn". 8 out of 10. "
