Ignis Invocatio are a band from Mexico that plays an occult form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2018 ep "All That Blood".
Ritualistic soundscapes start off the ep along with some horror movie style synths a few seconds later as well as a brief use of rain and thunder sounds before going into a heavier musical direction. During the faster sections of the music a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
Vocals are mostly grim black metal screams while the music also brings in a great amount of 90's influences. Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the riffing being done on power chords and most of the music sticks to a heavier direction.
Ignis Invocatio plays a style of occult black metal that is very raw, aggressive and traditional sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Luciferian, Witchcraft, Sorcery and Ritual themes.
In my opinion Ignis Invocatio are a very great sounding occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Incantation's Of Red Moon" and "Sorcery's night". 8 out of 10.
