Isfet are a band from Brazil that plays a very aggressive and melodic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2019 ep "Mayest Thou Wander Aimlessly" which was released by Mourning Light Records.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the ep along with the only track on this recording being over 10 minutes long. Classical guitars can also be heard briefly while the riffs also bring in a great amount of melody as well as the music being very heavily influenced by the Swedish style.
Vocals are mostly grim black metal screams while the music also shows a touch of the more melodic death metal style. The solos and leads also utilize a great amount of melody along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and when the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the music more of a raw feeling, spoken word parts are also used briefly and towards the end a small amount of classical style piano's are added into the music.
Isfet plays a style of black metal that is very melodic, old school and aggressive in the Swedish style. the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover misanthropy, death, occultism, chaosophy, left hand path and anti cosmic themes.
In my opinion Isfet are a very aggressive and melodic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. 8 out of 10.
