This is a review of another recording from France's K.F.R which continues his raw and lo-fi mixture of occult black metal and dark ambient and this is a review of his 2019 album "L'enfer a sa source" which will be released on May 31st by Purity Through Fire.
A very dark, heavy, raw and melodic sound starts off the album along with some grim black metal screams being added onto the recording a few seconds later. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard while the solos and leads are done in a very dark and distorted style.
Most of the tracks are very long and epic in length while the music also captures a very lo-fi atmosphere. Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the riffs also adding in a small amount of dark sounding melodies as well as the music also having its atmospheric moments at times.
Elements of dark ambient can also be heard at times while the music also gets very ritualistic in some parts of the recording. One of the later tracks is an instrumental along with one track also introducing spoken word parts onto the recording and as the album progresses a brief use of synths can also be heard. The production sounds very dark, raw and lo-fi while the lyrics are written in French and are a concept album based upon the physical and metaphysical sides of Hell along with some inspiration from the writings of Schopenhauer, Bataille and Satre.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from K.F.R and if you are a fan of raw and lo-fi occult black metal and dark ambient, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Le Sinueus Chemin" and "Anatheme de I'Envie". 8/5 out of 10.
