Kapala are a band from India that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and this is a review of their 2019 ep "Termination Apex"which will be released in June by Dunkelheit Produktionen.
A war orientated intro starts off the ep before going into a heavier musical direction along with the riffs also using a decent amount of dark sounding melodies. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them and when the music speeds up a great amount of brutal blast beats.
When tremolo picking is utilized it gives the music more of a raw feeling along with the heavier sections of the music being very heavily rooted in war metal. Vocals bring in a mixture of bestial growls and angry black metal screams while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Sounds of war and air raid sirens also make a return in certain sections of the recording while movie samples can also be heard briefly and the music always sticks to a raw and brutal direction along with some songs also adding in a touch of noise. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover war, death, genocide and human filth themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Kapala and if you are a fan of war or bestial black/death metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Martial Dominance" and "Vomit The Phosphorus". 8 out of 10.
