Lethargie are a solo project from Germany that plays a very raw and lo-fi form of black metal and this is a review of his 2020 demo which was released by
'Void Wanderer Productions.
A very fast and raw sound starts off the demo along with a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams that are kind of mixed down low in the mix while the riffs also add in a small amount of melody at times and spoken word parts can also be heard briefly.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very dark yet melodic style while a great portion of the tracks are very low and epic in length. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the music also adding in a good amount of influences from the 90's and 2000's era as well as mixing it with some more modern elements. Clean playing can also be heard briefly and as the demo progresses the vocals also start adding in more of a grim approach.
Lethargie plays a style of black metal that is very raw and lo-fi sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness, dreams, coldness and desolate themes.
In my opinion Lethargie are a very great sounding raw and lo-fi black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Puppets" "World Whispers" and "The Desert". 8 out of 10.
