Mountain Hermit are a solo project from Italy that plays an atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their 2020 demo "Lucus" which was re-issued in 2020 by Nailed Nazarene Industries.
Atmospheric sounding synths start off the demo while also adding in some touches of dark ambient and utilizing a variety of many different sounding keys and they also mix in with the heavier sections of the songs. When the music speeds up great amount of blast beats can be heard.
Melodies are also added into the guitar riffing while all of the drum beats are programmed along with the tremolo picking also giving the songs more of a raw feeling. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them as well as the solos and leads also being done in a very raw yet melodic style w hen they are utilized, all of the tracks are also instrumentals and the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Mountain Hermit plays a style of black metal that is very atmospheric sounding sounding while mixing in a great amount of dark ambient elements as well as keeping everything instrumental and the production sounds very dark and raw.
In my opinion Mountain Hermit are a very great sounding atmospheric black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this re-issue. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Silent Star". 8 out of 10.
