Abatuar are a band from Panama that plays a primitive mixture of black, war, death metal and grindcore and this is a review of their compilation album "Vegacion de la Bestia/Fosa Comun" which will be released in November by Dunkelheit Produktionen and also consists of their 2014 and 15 demo's of the same name.
A very dark, raw and primitive 80's influenced death metal sound starts off the compilation along with some morbid sounding melodies before speeding up and adding in grim screams and more of a bestial black metal style that also utilizes a great amount of blast beats and the solos and leads also remain true to an old school style of black/death metal.
Demonic growls can be heard quite a bit throughout the recording and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the faster sections being very heavy influenced by grindcore while the slower riffs also bring in a touch of doom metal at times and some songs also bring in a small amount of spoken word samples and tortured screams as well as a brief use of clean playing and one track also brings in avant garde element s while the main focus is on a very raw and bestial sound.
Abatuar plays a musical style that takes the mid 80's South American extreme metal, death metal and grindcore and mixes it in with the 90's style of black and war metal to create a style of their own, the production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics are written in Spanish and cover blasphemous themes.
In my opinion Abatuar are a very great sounding primitive mixture of black, war, death metal and grindcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Dispersión de nube toxica BZ y gas mostaza como incapacitante y vesicante; regresión a comportamientos reptiles" and "Sádicos métodos de aniquilación natural para la erradicación de las razas; perversiones de una tierra vírica". 8 out of 10.
