Temple Of Baal are a band from France that plays a mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Mysterium" which was released by Agonia Records.
A very dark and ritualistic sound starts off the album along with some ambient style synths and after a minute acoustic guitars are added onto the recording before going into more of a heavy and melodic musical direction and the solos and leads also bring a great amount of melody onto the recording.
When the music speeds up it has more of a raw black metal style along with a great amount of blast beats and the vocals are mostly grim sounding screams while death metal growls can be heard at times and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with acoustic guitars making their return at times.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and a great portion of the tracks are very long and epic in length and also bring atmospheric elements in briefly in some of the songs and when spoken word parts and melodic chants are utilized the music gets more occult and ritualistic and as the album progresses thrash influences can be heard in some of the guitar riffing.
Temple Of Baal plays a style of black metal that is mostly fast and also mixes in a lot of death metal elements to create a very heavy sounding recording, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Satanism and Occultism themes.
In my opinion Temple Of Baal are a very great sounding mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Lord Of Knowledge And Death" "Dictim Ignis" and "All In Your Name". 8 out of 10.
