Vision Lunar are a solo project from Montreal, Quebec, Canada that plays an instrumental form of atmospheric post black metal and this is a review of his 2015 ep "Luna Subortus" which was released as a joint effort between Abridged Pause Recordings and Winterwolf Records.
Atmospheric ambient synths start off the ep along with some psychedelic elements and after a minute the music gets heavier and goes into more of a black metal direction that also uses a great amount of melody and the music also uses clean playing in some parts of the songs and all of the songs are instrumental.
Some of the guitar riffing brings in more of a raw black metal sound and the clean parts also bring in a heavy post rock and shoegaze influence and the music sticks to either a slow or mid paced direction and some of the riffs bring in a great amount of melody.
Vision Lunar plays a style of post black metal that is very raw and atmospheric and also avoids any lyrics or vocals to focus more on a guitar driven sound and the production sounds very dark and raw.
In my opinion Vision Lunar are a very great sounding instrumental atmospheric post black metal project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check up this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Spiritus Luna". 8 out of 10.
