Deadly Maim is a solo project from Russia that plays a very raw form of black metal and this is a review of their 2020 ep "Feast Of Demise" which was released by Nailed Nazarene Industries.
A very fast and raw sound starts off the ep along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams as well as most of the tracks being very long and epic in length.
Dark sounding melodies can also be heard in the guitar riffing while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. At times the music also adds in some progressive structures along with the songs being mostly rooted in a modern style of black metal, a small amount of melody can also be heard in the guitar riffs and the ep closes with a cover of Sodom's "Burst Command 'til War".
Deadly Maim plays a style of black metal that is very raw, aggressive and modern sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness and death themes.
In my opinion Deadly Maim are a very great sounding raw black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Feast Of Demise". 8 out of 10.
