Thrown Away are a duo with members from Australia and Iran that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording plays an atmospheric mixture of black metal, post rock and shoegaze and this is a review of their 2020 album "You'll Never Know" which will be released in April by Nailed Nazarene Industries.
Melodic guitar leads and atmospheric sounding keyboards start off the album while clean playing can also be heard at times. Spoken word parts are also added into some parts of the recording along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them.
High pitched black metal screams are also a very huge part of the recording while the music also mixes in a great amount of shoegaze and post rock elements. The riffs also add in a great amount of melody along with some of the songs also being very long and epic in length and all of the tracks stick to either a slow or mid tempo style, stringed instruments can also be heard briefly.
On this recording Thrown Away remains true to the atmospheric mixture of black metal, post rock and shoegaze that was established on the previous release. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover dark and melancholic themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Thrown Away and if you are a fan of atmospheric black metal, post rock and shoegaze, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Forgotten Memories" and "Darkness Brings True". 8 out of 10.
