Omnikinetic is a solo project from Portland, Oregon that plays a mixture of war and blackened death metal and this is a review of his 2020 ep "Kinesis" which was released by Repose Records.
A very dark, brutal and cavernous sound starts off the ep along with some bestial growls a few seconds later. Elements of death metal can also be heard quite a bit throughout the recording while dissonant structures can also be heard at times and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats and war metal influences can also be heard.
Black metal screams are also utilized at times while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. At times the music also evokes a very dark atmosphere as well as only adding in a small amount of melody and all of the music also sticks to a heavier direction.
Omnikinetic plays a musical style that takes war and blackened death metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover nature and spiritual themes.
In my opinion Omnikinetic is a very great sounding mixture of raw and blackened death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Leading The Pack" and "Chronokinesis (Time Control)". 8 out of 10.
